Stinson adds more legal experience to its banking team in Kansas City – Kansas City Business Journal – The Business Journals

Stinson LLP hired experienced attorneys Michelle Fox and Tom Witherspoon, adding them to the Banking and Financial Services Practice in Kansas City.
Fox graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1993 and has experience as a private practitioner and as a Missouri assistant attorney general. She spent the past year-and-a-half as senior corporate counsel for CarMax Auto Finance in Atlanta. She has experience with matters related to risk management, financial services litigation and strategic planning, financial communications, regulatory negotiations and investigations, and daily banking and financial services operations. She can advise business leaders on credit reporting, collections, customer service, contract development and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau matters.
Witherspoon accumulated six years experience after graduating from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2014. Before joining Stinson, Witherspoon spent five months as compliance counsel at CBW Bank and also did two stints as a corporate counsel at QC Holdings Inc. in Lenexa. He has worked on product development and compliance management and specializes in consumer finance, fair lending and fintech.
The Banking and Financial Services Practice at Stinson now has 30 lawyers, including 15 in Kansas City.
