Authorities investigate the scene of a pedestrian who was hit and killed by a tow truck in the 7400 block of Cullen Boulevard on Jan. 29, 2022.
A man was hit and killed by a tow truck late Friday night in south Houston, according to Houston police.
Officers responded around 11:50 p.m. to the 7400 block of Cullen, where they found a 76-year-old man who had been struck by a tow truck while attempting to cross the street. He was transported to Ben Taub Hospital by EMS where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

The 29-year-old driver of the tow truck stopped at the scene and called 911 to report the crash. He showed no signs of impairment, cooperated with police and was released, according to an HPD spokesperson.
The crash will be referred to a Harris County grand jury, HPD added.
